Adopt A Youth
Council of Regents Outreach Program

The secret message communicated to most young people today by the society around them is that they are not needed, that the society will run itself quite nicely until they — at some distant point in the future — will take over the reigns. Yet the fact is that the society is not running itself nicely because the rest of us need all the energy, brains, imagination and talent that young people can bring to bear down on our difficulties. For society to attempt to solve its desperate problems without the full participation of even very young people is imbecile.” — Alvin Toffler

I started off with this quote because it rings true in the International Court System. All over the ICS you hear of chapters that are struggling with memberships, changing communities and even past monarchs are feeling "left out". I have asked myself 3 questions.
How can we change the narrative?

How can we be more visible in the community?

How can we be more adaptable to change?

Well here is the break down:

How can we change the narrative?
A: I believe this begins with us being more open with communication as an over all organization. With the open dialogue by educating our youth in our local community we can have the lines of communication become more open.

How can we be more visible in the community?
A: We have to show up! Showing up isn't just about showing up at events, this also includes showing up when we are called on to aid in tasks that can be daunting. Well Regents This is one of those calls! We need to grow, educate & we are needing your help! The wealth of knowledge that our Regents hold is what our youth is seeking. This is a way we can be more visable with the "Adopt a Youth" Program.

How can we be more adaptable to change?
A: Change can be uncomfortable for many people, the fact still remains that with the evolution of our communities across the ICS we need to adapt! We need to become more welcoming, show more love and begin looking at every situation with an open heart and open mind. I know this is not going to be easy and it is not a simple process but, it is a much needed first step.

This "Adopt A Youth" program will give us, the Regents an opportunity to reach out and have a hand in the growth of our Organization. The idea is to gather Regents who would like to purchase a Ticket for a youth member of our community for Coronation. This will be the beginning of renewed relationships with Inside Out Youth Services, UCCS, CC & PPCC. This Program will also help streghthen the outreach leg of our organization. By doing this we will be able to setup the unlimited growth potential funnel that we can use as a means to educate and grow membership. This is an opportunity for us to see our organization flourish as we begin planting the seeds we will be nourishing into future leaders and monarchs of our beloved UCPPE.
