The Kelly Loving Act is named in honor of Kelly Loving. It increases protections for trans parents, children, students, workers, and community members. It will be formally introduced on Tuesday. We urgently need everyone to communicate with their legislators and the governor to encourage bold protections for trans. People this bill would make it so that workers and people using public accommodations cannot be intentionally, dead named or miss gendered. It adds protections for transparent and children that are especially important with the crackdown on gender affirming care. In the past three weeks, the Trump Administration has unleashed a barrage of attacks on trans people. Despite promising to protect every day people, many Colorado hospital systems and government officials have failed to challenge these assaults on trans people. Colorado legislators need to hear from everyday people: trans folks belong in Colorado and will be protected.
